Check out this instructional video about cleaning and hanging for fabrics by fabric store D'italia. Great and clear info on how to care for a variety of eco fabrics (and not so eco but maybe you ave bought them as Vintage). However, choose the handwash over the drycleaning.
A cake of soap is much better for the Earth than liquid soap. Liquid soap contains petroleum. Most shampoo contains petroleum unless otherwise stated.

Eco Store Laundry Liquid
Cleans gently enough for woollens and delicates, and effectively enough for regular household washing. Economically concentrated; over 20 washes from one litre. Contains simple mineral salts and plant based ingredients as well as certified organic eucalyptus oil for extra cleaning power and a fresh clean fragrance. ecostore laundry liquid is a healthier alternative to synthetic chemical laden laundry products. Consider handwashing more often (and dry cleaning less often). You will not only save electricity and dangerous chemicals but you will add life to your delicates and most loved item.
Consider products (that maybe Grandma used to use). Lux and or a wool misc containing Eucalytpus.

To bring the fabric back to life and get rid of any musty smell I've discovered Grandma's old trick- hand washing with Lux, Lux comes in a bit cardboard box in most supermarkets and is old fashion bio-degrable soap flakes. (It's excellent at maintaining silks too.
