When you buy cheap leather, do you even know what animal it comes from? It's likely to be an ex factory animal who spent it's short life being pumped with hormones in a tight space and from the third world where the slaughter process is horrific. However as animal origins are not stated it could come from any kind of animal including cats?
Of course, expensive furs and leathers state the animal, sometimes are hunted creature who's meat is wasted and died simply for fashion.
Most of our cheap plastic alternatives are made in the third world, the toxic waste flows into rivers systems and kills fish and slowly poisons other animals and people who live off the rivers. There are no wild fish in the Mekong and other great rivers of China and South East Asia. Only fish farms.
